Baby Shower Card and Winner

BABY CARD AND SOME WINNERS! I sill have more Baby Shower goodies to show you from the other days POST.  Of course I made a card with matching paper to the Wall Decor hanging I made.  I kept the card a 5x5 card and layered with the pinks.  The card does match "another" thing I made for the Nursery but you'll have to wait to see that post.   

I used grunge board and my Big Die Word Play for the "BABY".  Then cut again with brown card stock to create a shadow.  Using some white crackle paint I painted the letters.  The thicker the paint the more crack you get.

I stamped Scrappy Moms Stamps Special Delivery set, Sweet Beginnings for the sentiment.  I added a postage stamp for fun.

I inked all the paper and letters with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink.

Mid Summer GIVEAWAY on CNS!!!!!

"Oh Baby" Nursery Decor and GIVEAWAY!!!!

I don't even remember the last time I did a Giveaway?  And you all keep coming back!  Me so lucky;)  But hey, it's time for a MID SUMMER GIVEAWAY!!!!  I have a packed summer and I want to say thanks for coming around, even when I'm not posting as often as I would like.  Details are after the Nursery Decor project!

 My SIL's nephew is having a baby and I wanted to send a gift for the nursery.  I found out the  baby's colours and got to work!  Charlotte is due next month and I am so excited for them.  So since the baby shower is on the weekend I headed out to Michaels and my LSS for some supplies! 

I picked up one large wooden letter (C) from Michaels.  I went to my LSS and found this adorable Carta Bella paper, Paris Girl. I wanted both images on the letter so when I traced out the "C" I was sure to trace the images as centered as I could.

Once you have modge podged the paper onto the letter do a second layer on top of the paper.  Then I sanded the edges.  This evens out the edges and shows the inked edges.

I used my TH Big Die Word Play for the grunge board letters, painted with Snow Cap White, sand the edges and add Victorian Velvet ink.

Place your letters where you want them. 

I added a circle and scallop punch for each letter in the matching paper.  Also some whimsical accents with these butterflies and a pretty crown. 

Some sheer ribbon attached with my heavy duty stapler is applied to the back. 

I glued all my letters on using Tom Bo glue.  I crown has added gems and glossy accents.

I ran the butterflies through the embossing folders then added some stickles.

I was careful to show as much of the image on the paper.

I think I dined at that cafe!  This butterfly is popped just above the Eiffel Tower.

I alternated the DP circles and scallops for each letter.

Viola!

Many Tags and Many Thanks

Many Thanks is Scrappy Moms Stamps newest stamp release.  This set is perfect for all those Thank You cards you haven't made yet!  I went really simple and plain for this card.  Something I feel I struggle with.  I always want to add, add, add!  I found a cute card on PINTEREST that inspired this.  Click HERE to check out the one I pinned.

I added some hemp twine and brads to the card.  I kept the card and tags in Kraft paper to keep it all sleakish (I love adding "ish" to my words).  I embossed each time I stamped.  the stamp "for being there" is on 1 stamp and I coloured each word with my marker then embossed.

I simply stamped the inside of the card with TH Black Soot ink.

I then used a TH embossing folder...the one with all the sewing stitches. Since I don't sew this is a good option for me.

TTC Blast from the Past

TTC RETRO CHALLENGE

Scrappy Moms Stamps just released "Blast from the Past" stamp set and this weeks challenge is "RETRO"!  I just got these stamps (the mail is painfully slow) and so I quickly popped into my craft room and made a fun card.  The mustache is too great and I knew I had to use it!

I used my Umbrella Man die in the matching Basic Grey to the DP.  I wanted him to be subtle so the "stash" would pop!  I stamped and embossed the hand.  Seriously love this stamp!  Oops...I'm impatient and took photo's before my glossy accents dried on the mustache.

Also from SMS Blast from the Past is the sentiment I stamped on the inside, "You're Otta Sight".

I stamped and punched "Respect the Mustache!"  I folded the Umbrella Man's leg back as if he's kicking it back.  Just to make him a little more whimsical.

NEW STAMPS!!!

 I'm still here and running late helping my FABULOUS DT Scrappy Moms Stamps announce "Blast from the Past" and "Many Thanks".  These awesome stamps released on Friday and are ready to be stamped.  Mine just arrived and I have yet to get ink on them!  But I will be playing with them this week!   Love the Boler and Mustache on this set!

You can never have to many "thank you" stamps!  I have plans for these!

***YELLOWSTONE/ GRAND TETONS TRIP***

I've been in Yellowstone/Grand Teton for the past 10 days and we had a blast!  We saw thermal pools, wildflowers, grizzly's, buffalo and so many furry animals!

I picked up some Yellowstone scrap'n stuff.  Lets see if I can get some time to make something?  It's been so long since I scrapbooked! 

My First Canvas

Sympathy Canvas  Sometimes a Sympathy card just doesn't seem like enough.  At least that's how it was for me when my Grandmother passed a couple weeks ago.  I felt like I needed to do more for my Mom now that both of her parents are gone.  Instead of planning my trip home to say my final good-bye's, I was  planning this.  I really had to put myself in a different place to create this with my box of tissues at hand.  I spent all my summers with my Grandma, just the 2 of us.  Although she was hard to get along with she was my grand and I loved her.   I found this 12x12 canvas at my LSS.  I felt I wanted to do a canvas but having never made one I didn't know where to go once I had the canvas.  But then I saw the new TH Distressed Doily die and it all kinda fell into place.

I started with my favorite photo of my grandss on their wedding day, she was about 17 and he was about 20.  I changed the black and white photo to sepia and printed it out on normal printer paper.  I then inked the edges with vintage photo ink and mounted the photo on vanilla and brown cardstock.  Making sure to seal it all with Modge Podge.

I spent 20 minutes looking for my wood Scrabble pieces.  They had fallen behind behind some boxes.  Lucky for me I found them and all the letters to spell out REMEMBER.  I inked the edges with Walnut to soften the blocks.  Adding the gears in grunge and embossing the metalic to creat this accent.  Mt grandpa was a commercial fisherman so the big gold gear reminds me of his nautical past.

I kept some tissue from a recent purchase and created this pretty tissue flower.  I layered 10 4x4 sheets of the tissue, fan fold about every 1/4" then staple the center to hold the folds.  Then I cut the edges round and started seperating the layers and fluffing to make it a flower.  To accent the center I added this brass metal button.  The key and lock we still drying. 

My Mom was a Daddy's girl, so I printed again on the printer paper his photo when he was on his boat.  Then layered to create a frame.  Using the SU Photo Corners punch, I embossed them and coated them in Glossy Accents.  They shine! To help hold the photo in place I added some brads.

Aren't these vintage frames pretty!  What a pop they add.  I simply printed "MOTHER" and "FATHER" and layered them in the frame.  Once I popped them in place with the brads I coated in the Glossy Accents.

Together with the photo's it's a pretty reminder of my Mom's parents.

I love my letter dies so I can create words on this grundge board.

The font is a 1940's type font and one of my favorites.

The On the Edge Distressed Doily is a perfect match my my grandparents 1940's wedding photo!

I picked up this heavy metal clip with the word REMEMBER on it.  And a stamped tag CELEBRATE from Scrappy Moms Stamps set Mini Messages.
